The original coconut rum, Malibu has its beginnings on the Caribbean island of Barbados, where rum has been produced since the mid-1600s when it was known as "rumbullion" and was made in pot stills next to the wind-driven mills of the sugar plantations. Rumor has it this concoction was created when a coconut fell from a tree into a barrel of rum at the Malibu Beachside Distillery in Barbados. The result is a distinctive flavor that is also delicious.
